Shopping in Leh

While we visited Leh this week, the team and I decided to put in some extra spending money to bring home some amazing Indian finds to help with a fundraising project we have in mind. My local friend, Mia, is one heck of a haggler and we were able to really stretch our bills. While we stuck mostly to jewels and textiles, I still made time to dream about things that I’d fill my home with if I had all the money in the world — I play that game often. Among the things that intrigued me were the gigantic bridal headpieces — I know, you’re like, “I don’t see any headpieces” but this is an example of how it sits on the head. There were also so many different turquoise and coral inlaid pieces that it was hard to narrow down favorites — note a little lidded pot, some mini potion flasks, and a gorgeous cylindrical container meant for incense. Trinkets always fascinate me; I think I’m hopeless that way.
